RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT STATION FOR PLANT CULTURE ON SANDY SOILS DABULENI
SCDCPN Dabuleni operates under the supervision of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences “Gheorghe Ionescu-Sisesti” – Bucharest.
It is based in Calarasi, Dolj County, on the National Road – Bechet-Corabia, 75 km from Craiova and 40 km from Corabia.
The activity of the Dabuleni Resort carries out the following scientific research activities with more important directives:
permanent improvement of sandy soils;
elaboration of farming systems specific to sandy soils;
study of the behavior of species, varieties and hybrids of plants resistant to drought and less pretentious to soil fertility;
the creation of varieties in plants specific to sandy soils (watermelons, peanuts, fasolitis, etc.);
elaboration and improvement of cultivation technologies for cereals, technical plants, fodder plants, medicinal plants, vegetables, fruit trees and beef, in the concept of sustainable agriculture;
the study of biology and integrated control of pests, pathogens and weeds of economic importance in plants grown on sandy soils;
technological transfer of research results to users.
